Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Magical Mineral Tour?
A week-long adventure that will encompass four different mines as well as other outdoor activities in the beautiful White Mountains of NH and southwestern Maine. We had so much interest in the Barton Garnet Mine activity at the 2006 International Event, that we decided to create a more extensive gem and mineral mining experience. And to keep it interesting for the novice rockhounds, we are throwing in a little hiking, tubing, and sightseeing, for a truly unique and special week!

How much does it cost?
For the week-long trip, Early Bird Pricing of $999M/$1049NM will be in effect through May 27th. After that, regular pricing of $1029M/$1079NM will be in effect through June 15th. After June 15th, there will be a $50 Late Fee tacked onto the Regular Price; registration will close completely on June 24th. There are also options to come for the first half of the trip (July 1-4) for $485M/$535NM Early-Bird pricing; or the second hal of the trip (July 4-8) for $625M/$675NM Early-Bird. Pricing for the partial-week trips will also increase on May 28th and June 16th.

How do I get there?
Please plan to arrive at Manchester, NH airport (MHT) no later than 1:00 p.m. on 7/1. Van transportation will be provided from the airport. If you plan to arrive on 7/4 for the second half of the trip, please plan to arrive into MHT no later than 1:00 p.m.

When should I plan to fly home?
Please make your flight home for 12:30 p.m. or later on Sunday, July 8th. If you plan to leave on July 4th, you may plan your departure after 2:30 p.m. (NOTE: if you are planning to depart on 7/4, please contact us prior to making return flight arrangements. It is possible, if a carload will be driving back, that you can fly out later, and spend the morning tubing the Saco River for an additional charge).
