The Maryland Club will be hosting "A Capitol Event," a Pre-Tour of Downtown DC starting on August 31st. We have lots of exciting thing planned in this 24-hour event!  After arrival into Washington s Dulles Airport, you ll be given a metro farecard and taken to metro for a quick trip into DC.  We ll take your luggage to the hotel for ya !  You ll spend the afternoon at one of our great museums -- either the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian, or the Holocaust Museum.  The entire group will then gather, have a quick snack, and depart on either a walking tour of the monuments or a guided bike tour of the monuments with  Bike the Sites.   At the end of the tour, we ll metro to our hotel in Bethesda and freshen up for dinner.  We ll walk over to Bacchus for dinner, where we ll join some local Maryland Mosaic folks for a leisurely meal.

The next morning, after breakfast on your own, we ll head into DC again for your choice of three activities: A Jewish Walking Tour of DC, a Kayak Tour of the Georgetown Waterfront, or a Hike through Rock Creek Park.  We ll enjoy a box lunch and return to the hotel for a late check-out and departure for Camp Horizons!

The base Package cost of the Pre-Tour, which includes transport from Dulles Airport to the hotel and to camp, one night double occupancy at the fabulous Bethesda Hyatt, most walking options, a metro farecard, and dinner at Bacchus, is $225M/$250NM.  Upgrade to a single room for $75.  The evening Bike tour of the Monuments is an add-on of $45, the Jewish Walking Tour of DC is an add-on of $15, and the Kayak trip is an add-on of $50.

The activities will also be provided as a la carte options for the folks living in the DC metro area who wish to join in some of the activities.
