The
evening schedule is beginning to take shape, but will continue to be refined over the summer.
Here's how the after-dinner
hours are shaping up (and all this cool stuff is included with your
registration!):
Thursday
Evening
· Icebreakers. It is the first night and you want to get to know people, right? This is your opportunity to learn some interesting things about other people, and find people with similar talents and interests. No ice will be harmed during this event.
· Leadership Workshops. Details TBD. Stay Tuned.
· Night Hike. The
forest at night is a completely different place than during the day! Join us as
we learn to safely navigate at night using fox-walking skills, as well as our other
senses. We' ll see a stunning example of
rods vs. cones in action, and learn how to maximize chances for survival if
lost in the woods at night.
· Campfire. Sing, schmooze, and make s'mores
around the evening campfire.
Friday Evening
· Shabbat Service. Welcome Shabbat with prayer, music, and
readings. Both an Egalitarian Service
and a smaller Traditional minyan will be held.
· Shabbat Coffeehouse. Our talented Mosaic members from the Atlanta area (and a couple from elsewhere) will showcase their talents and entertain us with a series of short sets. Once performers' names are confirmed, they will be provided here with a short bio.
· Nature Slide Show with Dave Liebman. Our very own nationally-acclaimed nature
photographer, Dave, returns for
another signature presentation on the local flora and fauna. You'll be both amazed and amused by his sheer
talent and dry wit. An event not to be
missed!
· Campfire. Sing,
schmooze, and make s'mores around the evening
campfire.
Saturday
Evening
· Havdallah: Celebrate
the end of Shabbat with this beautiful service.
·
HEADLINE EVENT: Appalachian Dance with Diane Silver and Friends Local caller and Mosaic Artist-in-Residence will teach us some basic circle dances, contra dances, clog dances and Israeli dances, while accompanied by live fiddle and guitar. We'll practice, change partners, practice some more, and so on. This is a GREAT way to meet people you may not have already met, get to know your friends a little better, learn a little about authentic local Appalachian folk dances, and have a whole lot of fun! You asked for a more participatory Headline Event than we've had the past couple years... and we aim to please! Later on, the fun continues around the campfire as Diane brings her songs and storytelling to a more intimate setting.
· Campfire. Sing,
schmooze, and make s'mores around the evening
campfire. Diane Silver joins us for an evening of stories and song.
Sunday Evening
· Council of Delegates
Meeting and Mosaic Elections.
· Workshops. We' ll
have one set of workshops after dinner this year, then reconvene together for the biggest, baddest final campfire Mosaic has ever seen! Workshop details will be added over the summer as they are finalized. If you're interested in leading an evening workshop, please let us know!
· Final Campfire. Bigger
and better than the ones before, this campfire may have a skit or
two thrown in for good measure. We'll
say our goodbyes and schmooze long into the night& .
